ProSkill at Researchers’ Night at the University of Miskolc

On 26 September 2025, the University of Miskolc participated in Researchers’ Night, welcoming hundreds of visitors to explore the university’s research and educational activities.

During the event, ProSkill brochures and promotional materials were made available to visitors. Many guests, including families and children, showed interest and received information about the ProSkill project and talent management initiatives at the University of Miskolc.

The event provided a valuable opportunity to introduce the project to a broad audience and to raise awareness of the university’s efforts to support the development of students’ skills and talents.

Researchers’ Night once again proved to be an excellent occasion to connect with the wider community and inspire interest in higher education and research.

University of Miskolc Delegation Visits North-West University in South Africa

Between 8 and 15 June 2025, a delegation from the University of Miskolc visited North-West University (NWU) in South Africa. The visit marked an important step toward strengthening international academic cooperation and building long-term partnerships between the two institutions.

The delegation from the University of Miskolc included Prof. Dr. Mariann Somosi, Dean of the Faculty of Economics; Dr. Szabolcs Nagy, Deputy Dean for International Affairs; Tamás Bakó, ProSkill Project Manager; and several faculty members from the university.

During the visit to Potchefstroom, the central campus of North-West University, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed between the two universities. North-West University was represented by Prof. Jeffrey Mphahlele, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of NWU. The agreement establishes a framework for future collaboration, with a particular focus on talent management as a key area of joint interest.

The cooperation builds on the University of Miskolc’s experience with the ProSkill project, which focuses on developing and supporting student talent and skills. As an important milestone in this collaboration, Tamás Bakó previously introduced the ProSkill project to faculty members at North-West University during a presentation in 2024.

Following the signing of the MoU, representatives of both universities began working on a detailed plan to guide their long-term cooperation. The partnership is expected to foster knowledge exchange, joint initiatives, and the development of innovative approaches to talent management in higher education.

University of Miskolc at the Green Tech Conference 2025

On 22–23 May 2025, the University of Miskolc once again participated in the Green Tech Conference held in Zalaegerszeg, Hungary.

The Faculty of Economics was represented by Gabriella Metszősy. The visitors could learn about the ProSkill project thanks to the available brochures. The University of Miskolc booth attracted significant interest, particularly from grammar school students who are currently exploring their options for higher education.

During the two-day event, more than 300 students visited the University of Miskolc’s booth to learn about the Faculty of Economics and the study opportunities offered by the university. The interactions provided a valuable opportunity to engage with young people considering their academic futures and to highlight the university’s commitment to developing practical skills and innovative learning experiences.

Participation in the Green Tech Conference continues to be an important platform for the University of Miskolc to connect with prospective students and present projects that support skill development and future-oriented education.
